Dobos Gábor a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetemen végzett politológus-közgazdász szakon (2008), majd ugyanott politikatudományi doktori fokozatot szerzett (2018). A Magyar Politikatudományi Társaság tagja (2011-től), 2015-2024 között a Társaság elnökségi tagja, 2021-2024 között főtitkára. A HUN-REN Társadalomtudományi Kutatóközpont Politikatudományi Intézetében tudományos munkatárs. Kutatási területei: helyi politika, alkotmánybíráskodás, választási ígéretek.
